Just before
Tail light removing... There are two phillips head screws per tail light to take out
... As soon as these are out pull the tail light out. You will need to use a bit of persuasion still but they should come on out
Following, the harness connects just under the auto..
... simply detach the harness and your good. Watch out for dropping debris!!!
At this issue the previous tail light is out there and you're prepared to install the fresh assembly. For the most component the tail light will just plug in and you're good to go. I've seen that THE MAJORITY OF people have no issue with the hyper blink on these G4's on the other hand there are a handful that have had the matter so I just make the resistor mod from the get go with the hopes of not having to handle it afterwards so ahead of putting in the lighting I spliced in the brand new resistor.
Primary, cut the wires on the first, gray common box that will come with the lighting.
Up coming you'll prefer to splice in the brand-new resistor. In addition, this is just a short-term splice for now. This weekend I plan on getting a few get smaller connectors to keep it free from the weather. You'll additionally want to zip tie your wires up in a bundle to keep these arranged and out of the way (not pictured)...
... from my study it doesn't matter which end go to the green wire and which end goes to the black wire. This resistor did are available with Scotch-lok connectors but I opted not to use them (and various folks urged me to trash them as well)
Obtaining the resistor is simple. I used the red 3M tape (very strong stuff!! )
... and put it on the back and connected the resistor to the back of the tail
Did my tests (lights, brakes, blinker,... )
Just for grins here's a picture of one LED in and one stocker in. HUGE difference IMO
Do these exact steps to the other aspect and...
Sorry for the crappy cell photographs but it was just less complicated. In addition, I was planning to do this out in the light to get greater pics but it's been so rainy I was too impatient to wait longer just before I mounted them.
